Ever get a call from your biggest client with a last minute request that seems impossible? Happens all the time, right? You can certainly bet you haven’t been in the promotional products business very long if you haven’t.
This past November, days before Thanksgiving, a promotional distributor received a last minute call from a major international client. MTV had a high-volume request with a fast turnaround for a unique branded item that could carry
the company’s mission statement. MTV was interested in some type of logo apparel, thought a custom fleece or sweatshirt could work, provided some general guidelines, but overall was looking to their branding specialist for creative
suggestions. What unfolded over the next 2 weeks is an amazing example of the power of partnering and collaboration from the beginning of an opportunity.
The distributor and their Vantage salesperson thought up a range of decoration options to present. The client picked a great zip-front hoodie that fit their corporate style but then played a wild card that sent the distributor and
Vantage back to the drawing board. As an added twist, MTV decided to incorporate their mission statement on the inside of the fleece. As time was ticking away, Vantage called a meeting with their designers and decoration experts to
come up with more ideas. Two concepts were developed and pre-pro samples were created for the distributor to rush to the client.
The mission statement would be featured on custom printed appliqué on the inside of the hoodie, and boast a screen print logo on the front. By December 8, MTV approved the samples. It was then that they decided they wanted to add
custom.

custom hangtags to the hoodies. No problem, MTV! The distributor rushed production and supplied them to Vantage for application at the facility to save time.
With full-service, vertical manufacturing capabilities, Vantage was able to print and apply the custom logo appliqué, screen print the second location, apply hangtags, fold, polybag and ship 800 hoodies to MTV before the December 18
deadline - even as the complexity of the order grew. MTV was thrilled and the hoodies were a hit with their employees. To this day, the distributor continues to receive compliments on their creativity and service excellence each
time they meet with their client.
